Great job with the undercurrents there, too. Russia's faithlessness counterpointed America's obstinacy nicely. Oh Alfred, such a hero. ♥

You and me both. I always wonder what, exactly, the other nations think about this nebulous, explosive Thing going on between Russia and America. And the thing is, I'd be interested in hearing everybody's opinion, from England ("No comment"), to Sweden ("Let me show you how little I care.")
Oh Alfred, such a hero.
His whole Clark Kent/Sir Galahad thing is simultaneously endearing and baffling because...he means it. He always means it. XD

HAHA that's what's so lovable about America! He does mean his stupid sappy heroism! Russia is just too emotionally retarded to believe that, rofl.

Huh, we totally could! I think that'd be really interesting--just for us, I mean, as a character exercise.
Would anybody else be interested in reading something like that? As like, a TCE omake or something?

"Just because you dumped me doesn't mean I want you dead."
Aw, America. ): And somehow I doubt Russia even believes that.

It totally wasn't the answer Russia wanted, either. He really would have liked to hear America say "Yeah, honestly. I'd love to see you get hit by a bus right now." Because that makes everything so much easier for him, emotionally. But there America goes, being semi-well-adjusted. Russia can't deal with that.

The whole dog theme is interesting. Germany owned(owns?) dogs, right? I wonder if that made it easier or harder for him to be the one who obeys the orders.
He didn't look away from America as he tapped one out.
This made me giggle for unknown reasons. America=Stress for Russia, apparently.

About midway through writing this, Pyrrhic was all "Prussia should just narrate the rest of TCE. All of it." And I was totally on board. XD He's really a breath of fresh air, not weighed down with all the angst and anger and pettiness and "I hate you okay? What do you mean 'doth protest too much'?" that Russia and America have spiraling around in their respective POVs.
I wonder if that made it easier or harder for him to be the one who obeys the orders.
I think what really makes it easy for Germany to just follow tamely along is the huge helping of guilt that he's got hanging around from the war. In his view, America is being better to him than he deserves.

Pretty much the avatar of stress, in Russia's life. XD

Totally unrelated, but I feel like sharing
Remember how I said that reading the comments on TCE is a fourth of the fun? Oh, my God, this chapter's comments were So amusing! You two are my heroes. I can pick out like, four or five lines that should be commemorated FOREVER in a book of awesome quotes. I mean, that hobo talk. It really astounds me how funny you two are together. Okay, rabid fangirl talk off.

Russia jealous?
This is sort of Russia's default state, isn't it?
