Honeymoon time all over again

It's official, I have the go-ahead to purchase travel tickets for the end of October.  We've been married 14 years but are only now going to take the honeymoon we always wanted to do. Yippee!

The plan is to fly in to Paris and make our way south to Carcassone where we will rent a canal boat for the final week of the season. We will lazily drift along the canals for a week and then rent a car and do a roadtrip back through France to the village in Germany where I grew up. There's a little B&B that's opened up there that I'm hoping will have a room available.  I'd like to wake up on a crisp fall morning listening to the cows get driven out to pasture again.

There will, naturally, be many stops to buy and eat local cheeses - along with lots and lots of pictures and descriptions, of course.

Now the planning can truly commence.  Some people really hate this part but I revel in it, I love looking up all the different places and seeing what we can do along the route.  It satisfies my inner "event planner".
