The MiroSan Summer Exchange - Opening Requests Post

Jun 03, 2007 10:31

Hello all!

I'm sure a lot of you remember last year's Secret MiroSanta. Well, guess what? It's finally summer, school is letting out, and it's time for another round of MiroSan fiction! May I have the pleasure of introducing...

The Miroku Sango Fanfic Summer Exchange!

If you are interested in participating, please leave a comment on this post by noon PST on July 14th listing the following information:

LJ Username:
Email:
I Want to Read: (Genres, details)
Please Don't Include:
Max Rating:
Any Prompts: (Optional, up to four.)

Prompts are to help inspire the person assigned to write for you, in the case that they have difficulty coming up with ideas. The muses are stingy creatures, if you know what I mean. However, writers are not required to use these prompts if they have ideas of their own.

Also, if you are used to writing for a particular genre or have other particularities about your own work, feel free to mention that as well so that I can take that into consideration.

The entire point of this fanfic exchange is to write Miroku/Sango fanfiction, of which there is a sad dearth of within the fandom. We, being the fans we are, would like to amend this, which is why we are hosting this exchange. This is also why pairings other than Miroku/Sango are not accepted as the focus of your fanfiction in this exchange, should you choose to participate, though they may be secondary.

Next, to participate, you are not required to be a member of the-chasms, though we strongly encourage you to join. If you are not a member and you do want to join in, feel free to submit your request, but please be certain that you will be able to fulfill the obligation of writing a fanfic for someone else by the posting deadline. Actually, this applies to everyone, and I cannot emphasize the importance of this enough.

If you did not complete your submission for the Secret MiroSanta 2006, you will not be permitted to participate in this round unless you complete your last assignment by the request submission deadline (July 14th).

Once all of the requests are in, assignments will be sent out by email on July 15th. You will have a month to write your assigned fanfiction before the submission deadline, August 14th, on which date an entry will be posted where you will be able to comment with a link to your story. Periodic reminders will be sent out through July and early August to everyone, and after the submission deadline to those who do not post their fanfics.

For those curious, or still unsure of whether or not they want to join in, the submissions we received for the MiroSanta can be found here. As you can see, we have a great number of talented writers in this community, many of whom have already expressed interest in participating in this exchange. You will not be receiving a badly written story if you do participate!

On a final note, feel free to tell your writing friends about this exchange! More participants means more fanfic, and that's always a good thing. (Especially when your niche in fandom borders on neglected sometimes.) solichan is in the midst of creating a banner for you to post to your own journal(s), so look for that over the next few days.

Thank you for reading this lengthy post, and I hope to see you as part of the MiroSan Summer Exchange!
