A Fraud

[Police Lock]
As for the case revolving about the supposed murder of Edward, it seems we have been had.

Tis only a farce conceived by he and Azula. I am calling off the search, leave her be for now.

Patrols shall continue with their daily rounds, nothing more.

Although it is certainly an annoyance that he did such, I must confess my curiosity at his motives and reasoning.

It was a childish ploy but one that could be forgivable depending on the information Elric has received for this ill-mannered stunt.

Although, he could have at least informed the task force before making through with his hasty endeavors.

I believe he wanted 'utter secrecy,' although I agree with your point. I'm more interested in what he was attempting to prove or discover, which he unfortunately has been unwilling to share - with me, at least.

Utter secrecy? Now I am only intrigued to know what is it he desires to know. I do hope he has accomplished his deeds...

Elric refuses to speak? How arrogant! I swear, I am at a lost what to do with this boy and his fiendish accomplice.

He did say that he wished them to think him dead - and that he wished to speak to them - beyond that, I am uncertain and he seems unwilling to elaborate (although I admit I did not press the matter).

My guess, however, would be that he has not received whatever answer he was seeking - had he found something out about the scientists, he almost certainly would have reported that, rather than remain secretive.

So this farce was all a ruse to get the scientists to speak with him?

Is this so?

It would have worked if we were informed of this ploy. I am sure we could have spoken in person among the many of us rather than use these devices for such a scheme.

Any information about those heathens is welcomed by I.

Do not be fooled into believing these scientists are any different than the criminals we deal with.

As I understand, he faked his death so the scientists would seek him out; he kept it a secret beforehand so that even they would be unaware it was a farce. Then he used some sort of compound to mimic death - lowering his vitals to next-to-nothing, to further the illusion.

It was rather well-thought out. [She's actually really impressed by all this.] As the scientists bring us back if we are killed, one assumes the scientists retrieve the bodies; this would force them to appear. His plan may have worked, but he would not say whether or not he did speak to the scientists; as stated, I have reason to suspect he did not. However, he may yet have other plans.

I have no illusions regarding the scientists.

Interesting.

Very interesting. Now I am morbidly disappointed that this did not work as he originally planned!

Yet again...

So close yet so far, I shall not trouble Elric anymore than I have already.
Tis too great a shame knowing such a ploy has been ruined.

I suppose we can hope it did work, and he simply isn't saying so at this time. My theory is just a theory.

I'm still rather curious about several things in this case, however, any additional questioning should, I think, be out of curiosity, not suspicion. He should not have caused such worry, but the whole thing is rather impressive.

Perhaps the boy is more of a genius than just a child.

He did not strike me as so young... [He's a year older than she is pffft]

Regardless, I cannot help but admire it. To carry out such a plan, as well - I may well speak to him again in the future. [...] As well, he may be a useful - contact to the force.
