You can't miss something you never leave.
Lately, Jimmy's been noticing things. He's really not a quiet person, not deep down, but when he gets quiet he pays more attention to everything. And lately, Caleb's been pacing.
Well, not pacing, but... fidgeting. Retreating to books and the outdoors, and Jimmy's worried about it. Caleb never explained it to him, really -- 'twitchy's the word Jimmy remembers, and it may not even be the right one -- but all he really needed to know was that too long in one place makes Caleb prickly and nervous.
Jimmy's not really ready to leave yet, but he thinks Caleb is.
"Hey," Jimmy says, sitting next to Caleb.
