Hello
So yesterday I finally went to watch this crazy popular movie about four very stylish ladies, who are from New York and desperately try to maintain their glam status and image.
What can I say? To judge this film, at first I have to confess I’ve seen the ENTIRE show “Sex and the City” and to be honest , I admit I enjoyed and loved that a lot! Carrie’s monologues were about real life and various difficult situations which people and especially women (and especially single :) ) face frequently.
The first part of the movie was very touching and I cried a lot (sorry for Carrie’s marriage to fail). But this second part…. The feeling and emotions are VERY controversial. After two hours on a not very comfortable chair (btw I’ll never go to Kyivska Rus again; this was my second and the last time there), I had to make such a conclusion: the picture is great, but the firm is mediocre. I say mediocre not to abuse the film and because of my past addiction to it! But if I were a 40-year-old woman who came to see it for the very first time, I’d say it sucks.
How can a lifestory become such a cartoon, such a fairy-tale?! Mind you, that I love observing beautiful life, but this is TOO much. In fact what the film was about? I felt it was created only to get some more money and for the actresses to play for the last one time. There were moments when I was sick of their artificial “pink glam” and their VERY beautiful life.
Thought the picture is really great!!! Everything is so shiny and glamorous, ladies are sophisticated and attractive, and they make great impression. I love those women for their episodes in the show. I love them because they are so individual and independent. Each of them is strong and confident, stunning and funny, ambitious and self-sufficient. Some of the episodes in the film were actually funny. Some of them only made me smile. But I love those characters of the “SATC” women. And their image was the making of me in the far past when I was building my own life strategy and priorities. However I think the plot actually failed the main idea of the whole “Sex and the City” story.
I went to see the film with my two friends who are very easy to impress, who also dream of pink life with a prince on a white “Maybach” and they were wowing all the time, saying “I wish I were there right now” or “Ah, she’s so pretty and fancy” or “Uhh I want to have such a beautiful life too”. And all of the sudden I realized this is for whom the film was created. Not really for women who might have some problems (cause in fact each of us has some problems), but for the young ladies who dream of beautiful and glamorous life.
Conclusion: as an independent film, “SATC2” is great! Applauding the directors for a great work! 2 hours in a fairy-tale ----- yeah, it was cool. But as a continuation of the great “SATC” show, it’s 0 points from 5. It has nothing in common with the film it used to be. I should say I had enjoyed it only because of the actresses. The plot is dull.
Was I able to express my opinion in an understandable way? :)
Tnx, bye
