I really should update this thing more often.

The only thing that's really new to report is that I went and got ashes today.

I have no idea what to give up for Lent (it's not gonna be posting).

You could, instead of giving something up, do something new and charitable-like. You don't need to go all bazokajoe_2k about it, but it's something to consider.

Hehehe, I suppose. I'm fairly sure my wife, good Catholic girl that she is, told some time or another that the "giving stuff up" thing was been, not replaced, but supplemented, by a "doing something good" thing. I may be mistaken - you know how fuzzy memory gets when you reach decrepitude - but that's what I recall her telling me.

No, that's correct. But with work I don't really have time to volunteer at the soup kitchen anymore , let alone just for Lent. When classes start back up I'll go back to working there.
