Voted for my first time today; 3rd party (I live in MA, so no worries). I live in a very conservative town, however, so I thought I'd wear my awesome t-shirt:

by nature, "yuppies" are intelligent, middle-upper class. And the majority of them vote democratically. or at least thats what i always thought.

Yuppies are upper-middle class suburbanites concerned with their own money, lives and social appearance. They have 2 1/2 children and are in the booster club, and religion is a necessity. As such, they tend to be very conservative. Or at least, that's what I've always referred to these people as - yuppies. There may be two interpretations.

didn't yuppies originate as a form of hippie, only more extreme?
i read a book on it once. maybe they were lying.
