So what have I been up to this past week?

- I had my graduation picture taken with a Dr. Horrible-inspired costume as my creative shot. Some pictures of me with my props can be seen here. I didn't like the way they styled my hair, but I can live with it.

- I snuck out of the house to bunk up at Jaykie's place again last Wednesday and Thursday. Yes, my aunt's family is still here. *GRAR*

- I partied at Japanese Night at the International Center with the rest of TK. The theme was Japanese dance, and I really wish I was able to join the dance numbers this year. Problem is, fail schedule = no practice for me. :(

- I went and watched "Isang Panaginip na Fili" at UP with Kristine. Don't bother watching if you're not required to - it was pretty awful, with a hilariously upbeat theme music contrasting with an even angstier take on the El Filibusterismo story, in the form of a musical. Also, some pretty random references to The Dark Knight and Superman pop up, complete with John Williams-ish score, causing me to ROFL. It was funniest when they were breaking the fourth wall, since the framing medium was that we were watching Jose (Pepe) Rizal explain the Fili to his friend/roommate/secret gay husband Tonying while he was reading the Fili for the first time. The only production number that didn't make me wince was the Egyptian Espinghe number, which was the only time the music, the dancing, and the acting all worked together to tell something new about the story.

- I went to the opening of Planet X Comics Glorietta 4 and met Nick, Achi Ana (with John) and RJ there. They gave out 20 free comics to everyone who arrived! I bought Trese: Murder on Balete Drive, Secret Invasion # 6, X-men: Manifest Destiny # 1, and Fantastic Four: True Story #2. I got the Trese signed by both the writer (Budjette Tan) and the artist (Kajo Baldisimo). I got the SI signed by Leinil Yu. Also present and signing were Gilbert Monsanto (Bayan Knights, Hellcop, Tropa), Edgar Tadeo (Wolverine, X-men), Mico Suayan (Moon Knight, What if), Stephen Segovia (Wolverine, Countdown to Mystery), Harvey Tolibao (Ultimate X-Men), and Gerry Alanguilan (Elmer). I wish I had brought stuff for the other artists to sign. Or more money so I could buy the Vol. 2 of Trese. Oh well.

- I've also started picking my sked for next semester. It looks like I'll actually have morning classes next sem (Yeay!) but they'll all be with Sir Dan Mabazza so... pray for me, guys. :P Hopefully this is gonna be my last sem, so I'll be taking thesis as well. And damnit, I still need to take up 2 GEs.

EDIT: Also, these are the comics I got in my goodie bag The Creeper # 5 (1998) Spawn # 11 Punisher War Journal # 7 Marvel Adventures: Fantastic Four # 0 <-- Possibly the best in the haul Aria # 1 Blue Beetle # 1 (2006) <-- Or maybe it's this Stormwatch # 5 (1993) <-- sadly, it's Jim Lee writing, not art. *yawn* Dark Horse Presents # 86 Jon Sable - Freelance # 9 (WHO?) Star Trek # 46 (Whoot!) Kobalt # 2 (WHAT?) Superman in Action Comics # 687 (Reign of the Superman tie-in, first appearance of the Eradicator as Superman. Fun fact: RJ got the Kon-El Superboy's first appearance!) Wolverine # 73 Dark Minds # 3 Fantastic Four # 489 (First issue of Mark Waid and the late Mike Wieringo's run, that I've mostly collected except for this!) Hawkman # 48 Masters of the Univers # 3 (By the power of Greyskull!!!!!!) Spider-man's Get Kraven #3 of 7 Marvel Knights Black Widow # 1 Spider-man: Blue # 4 (Yuck Jeph Loeb)
