Buffy glared over at him, setting down her empty glass as he hid his smile behind his own.
She spun around on her stool, propping her elbows on the bar behind her as she took in the woman standing in front of her.
"I can handle myself quite well, thank you" Her eyes burning as she felt the alcohol take a hold of her temper and help it flare up freely. "You on the other hand look like you're a straw away from tumbling apart."
Her eyes took in the dark circles, the clenching fists by her sides, and the unkempt bun held barely together by a pair of pencils. Adelle's gaze held Buffy's, neither woman looking away as they stared down each other.
Mal could feel the tension as he rolled across the room. He signaled the barkeep to bring three shots over. He turned in his stool slowly, holding up a glass in front of each of them.
"Why don't be take a step back and handle this all civilized like with a drink and words instead of a cat fight in this here bar. Unless that's what y'all are wanting to do, then by all means get to it."
He grinned at the thought of the two women getting it on in the bar.
