Summary: Four best friends spend their first summer apart, but share it with a pair of "magical" pants which they each take turns keeping and wearing.
Assessment: This was a really fun read. Fast, but that's not a bad thing. Light-hearted and serious, funny and sad, it captured my attention and didn't let go until I'd finished (I read the whole thing in one day). There is a very real feeling to the prose, quick and clever but still human enough to keep you drawn into the lives of the characters. A little predictable, but I won't hold that against it. Very good summer reading.
(So...apparently this list is turning out to be my own modified summer book checklist. Ah well--I'll keep posting until someone gets bored enough with my posts that they post something of their own. ;) )
