Where DO they learn that & the blackmail? Malachai has never heard, "well, you're not my _____ anymore but I still hear it from him. And then there's, "if you don't give me/allow me x item/behavior, i'm not gonna ----." Wth?
Oh thank God it's not just me! I wish that I knew where she heard half the stuff she comes up with. Seriously, I'm with her nearly all the time - are the neighbour children whispering these gems to her through the window while I use the washroom?
No, you'll be fine. A sense of humour is the key to not losing your mind. At the time, I felt like the worst mother in the world - now I can appreciate the funny side of it. :)
Oh Bonnie, if that makes you the worst mother in the world, I'd hate to know what I am! hahahah.... I hear crap like that on a daily basis ( ya part of it is the fact Thomas has ADHD and ODD but still... )
they learn it at school.... well it has to be since I'm with Thomas every minute of the day except for school and sleep...
I'm glad it's not just my kiddo who says things like this. We are wondering if part of it has to do with ADHD, she's not even in school yet, so I really wonder where it comes from!
It may have something to do with it, has she been diagnosed? I had no idea....
Thomas was diagnosed almost 8 months ago, but along with the ADHD ( his is a subtype of inattentive and hyperactive ) he has ODD ( oppositional deviant disorder ) and anxiety. So I know what you're going through.
She hasn't been diagnosed with anything yet, but Justin has ADHD, so there has been some speculation. Although if she does have it I would say the emphasis would fall on the Hyperactive. There are a lot of challenges dealing with Violet, and I'm very nervous about how teachers will handle them when she starts school in the fall.
Oh yes, I thought once we potty trained that I would be done with wiping butts, but oh no, he still can't do it well enough on his own to get it all so I end up as the bum wiper. :(
