I've got a major case of the Blahs up in here. Gabe has not been sleeping well at all this last week. Which means that I have not been sleeping. I'd say I'm averaging about 4hrs a night. I need to get this kid into his own room. He goes to bed fine, and he sleeps well when we aren't in the room. But when he wakes up to nurse around 12pm, he doesn't want to go back to his crib afterwards, if we lie back down in our bed after singing to him, he will scream at the top of his lungs. However, if we leave the room like we do at bedtime, and come downstairs for 20 mins or so, he will go right to sleep with no crying, just like at bedtime. But the trick is being awake enough to get up and put him in the crib, then leave the room instead of lying there in a half-comatose state while he uses my body as a jungle-gym in the middle of the night.
It reminds me of my once-upon-a-time blog, "Please, Please, Sleep" from when Lily was a baby. Except back then I could sleep in the morning with her to make up for it, whereas now I have to get up at 6am to get Lily ready for school in time for her bus, regardless of how little sleep I've had.
The samosas were delicious last night, but next time I'll have to half the chili flakes. Lily is a trooper, and ate two of them anyway, dipping them in the yogurt I put on her plate to lessen the heat, but Violet took one bite and cried that they were too spicy. Justin, Michelle and I enjoyed them, though. :)
food,
