Over all I migrated 3 or so stories over to AO3 and then just felt it was a bit redundant and stopped. I'd definitely be taking a second look at posting on AO3 though if I was being harassed! Which, by the way... I'm sorry to hear about! How rude of the poster and irresponsible of FFN to not do something about it. I didn't realize that blocking anonymous was no longer an option.
Anyway... what I've found is that I have a lot of followers on FFN that don't use AO3. I'm sure the same is true about some AO3 users. I think we all get used to a particular format and change is hard.
For those that find you through LJ shouldn't really have any issues whether you post on FFN or AO3 because your links in your LJ post will take them straight to the chapters or story... they don't have to use the search features of either site. What you may lose are those that don't use LJ or AO3.
Like dtissagirl stated though, the one nice thing about AO3 is the ability to download directly to your Kindle from AO3.
You can download FFN stories though through http://fanfictiondownloader.net/webversion_kindle.php.
Not sure that any of this is helpful, but I'm sure with a few more comments you will be able to get a better feel for what you want to do. Personally... I'd read your stories no matter where you posted. :)
