(Note that my Survivor Favorites are solely judged on the seasons I have seen the person play in. I have not seen every season; this is not a complete list.)
Previous favorites:
Richard HatchRudy Boesch
Survivor: Borneo and Survivor: All-Stars
Why? Rudy is one of the rare contestants who I love regardless of lack of strategy. He was roped into Hatch's alliance day one and let that carry him as far as the alliance ended up. Unless you consider loyalty a strategy, he's got nothing. But if he said he'd do something, he did it; and he was a badass motherbitch the entire time. As a retired Navy SEAL, a complete and utter kurmudgeon, and the oldest person to ever play Surviivor (72 in Borneo, 76 in All-Stars), Rudy will forever hold a spot in my Favorites. He's now 82 and I genuinely do not believe he will be the next Survivor contestant death. This guy's gonna be kicking it into his 100's.
Spoiler FREE video on why I love Rudy. 0:50 - 0:57 sums up his personality in one sentence as well as it can.
Rudy, however, cannot be epitomized in words or in clips like many of my Favorites can. Rudy has to be watched as long as he lasts in his respective seasons. Rudy is an experience. And I am the most hardcore Rudy stan I've met to date.
