Did I consent to letting myself get robbed, or was I doing a good deed?

Forgot to write about the return bus trip. In general it was non eventful, and I slept most of the way. However, at the New York city terminal where I had to change buses I was looking around for the new gate, and this lady came up to me and showed me how to get there (I could have figured it out easily, but it was nice of her, so whatever.) First off, I must say I find it interesting that she says she's going ot send you some money back because she's a Christian. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with anything, does it? Or perhaps its an audacious statement, that only Christians do "good deeds"? Very silly, but interesting.

Secondly, a question, she kept badgering you after you gave her the first $7 instead of just saying thank you and moving on?

That having been said, I really wouldn't over worry it. Here's the thing, the lady didn't come up and rob you by force, she did ask. Whether she was telling the truth or not, out of the kindness of your heart you gave her all the money you had with some slight inconvience to yourself. I think what's important to focus on is the good deed done, which is that this lady presented herself to you with the preception that she was in a rough situation and could use some money. And believing her, you did something very kind with the hope and intent of helping out a fellow human being. It's only money.

Though, I know if it had been me I'd probably be feeling very stupid worrying I got taken advantage of... But I think it's important to focus on the intent; we can only hope her intentions were sincere, and if not it's something she'll have to deal with. Yours were, and that's all that matters.
