Now that Anne had a home of her very own -- and it was a lovely home, to be sure, for how could it not be with some of her very closest friends building it for her? -- she determined that it was necessary to put her own touches on it. A few transplanted flowers around the doorway for a start, a curtain constructed from a truly large skirt that she'd picked up at the compound, a few things indoors that could serve as furniture should she have guests. It wasn't quite what she could call civilized, having known a very civilized home once, but it was cozy and it was hers and she loved it dearly.
After some time spent just wandering at the fringes of the jungle, she found a log not so far away -- a lovely, sturdy, knotty log with character -- that she thought would make a wonderful outdoor seat when she was reading or studying or just watching the stars, and started rolling it carefully back to her hut.
[Summary: Anne is helped by Sookie, to whom she shows off her new hut; Tiffany Aching, with whom she discusses goats and cheese; Ray Vecchio, who she thanks effusively for her new home, and Joe Dick, with whom she shares tales of her strengths and shortcomings, including a confession about green hair.]
