There were two this morning. Blood Red and Electric Blue blades clashing and hissing as they met. Two men, stripped down to boots and breeches, eyes blue on blue. They were a whirlwind of light and limbs. Not nearly so fast or so precise as they would've been with the Force, but months of training and dicipline granted them at least something of their former prowess back.
Scarred and sweaty faces. Smirking dangerously. It was like poetry. The poetry was in the dance. Left. Right. Left. Left. Thrust. Parry. One move right after the other in glorious rythym.
They were Jedi, once. Once. Once was not too long ago for Anakin and Once was ages ago for Xanatos. It probably would've disturbed Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon greatly to see this battle between Jedi and Sith taking place in the soft sand of the relatively peaceful beach. It probably would've disturbed them more to learn that there wasn't a shread of anger or bloody revenge rooted in this.
They froze for a moment, blades sizzling as fiercely as their gaze. "Nice," one said. "Not so bad yourself," came the other's reply. They pushed each other off, circling like great cats in a cage. Anakin lived for the fight. Xanatos lived for the temptation.
