and every breath we drew was hallelujah...

House limped into the rec room, pleased to find it empty. The more people that popped out of thin air onto the island, the more trouble he had carving out privacy. Sure, he could always just stay in his room, but there wasn't a piano in his room. God he missed having an entire townhouse to himself.

Okay, not a good idea to start thinking about all the things he missed.

He slid onto the bench and leaned his cane next to him. He pulled the bottle of Vicodin out of his pocket and laid it on the piano ledge. It had been a while since he'd had one today, so if the pain got bad he wanted to have it handy.

Then he cracked his knuckles before putting his hands down on the keyboard and starting to play 'Hallelujah.'

He glanced around one more time to make sure that no one was around, and started to sing softly. "I've heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the lord, but you don't really care for music do you... it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall, the major lift, the baffled king composing hallelujah, hallelujah..."
