I don't want to hurt you - I don't want to make you sway

She shouldn't have come back.

Veronica knew she could never have foreseen what had been awaiting her at the compound; she had even been slowly, slowly letting go of the idea of seeing him - of seeing any of them - again, much as that hurt to admit. But she should have stayed away. She should have stayed on the other side of the island and let the dinosaurs get her before coming back to this.

It was too late, though, for should haves. And, despite everything, she couldn't bring herself to hate Logan as much as she wanted him to kiss her again. It's hard to see why anyone ever thought the words 'island' and 'paradise' went together. This is all just . . . too much. And I still don't know what the hell that was.

Sitting on the beach, she watched the waves slide in and out, the wind whipping her hair madly around as she reached for one of the shells beside her and threw it as hard as she could into the ocean.

[Open to anyone who wants to deal with Veronica when she's even more screwed up than usual. Padmé and Maladicta would be particularly welcome.]

[Summary: After a couple days of avoiding people again, Veronica sits down on the beach to throw shells, as Johnny once suggested she do. Maladicta finds her and is alarmed to see Veronica so quiet. She agrees to cut Veronica's hair, which has grown too long for her tastes, and gets Veronica to promise that she gets first rights to beat up Logan if there's ever any call. Sam makes Veronica laugh and promises to eventually recite the names of every member of Congress in alphabetical order, but they soon fall to talking about homesickness and Veronica confesses that what's bothering her is Logan's arrival on the island. (In Progress.)]
