A return to the world.

It had been a short hiatus from everything social, but it had, indeed, been a hiatus. For about a week, the only person she'd seen with any regularity was Connor, but even that hardly counted. She had been a bit distant from him because there really was no avoiding him, with them living together and all. She didn't mind having him around, but ( Read more... )

Dustin had decided to take a jog down the beach, seeing as it was a nice enough day. This weather warranted some physical exercise. He was clad in a yellow tank top and black shorts, sneakers covered his feet.

He stopped a moment to catch his breath. Seeking shade, Dustin found a nearby tree to rest under. He sat and closed his eyes, attempting to meditate a bit, before continuing his run.

Oh, this was too perfect. Buffy couldn't help but smile to herself. Poor guy never knew it was coming.

"Running guy, this is God. I breathe in deeply through your nose and you won't feel so winded," she said in a mysterious voice.

(OOC: OMG! I just almost spit out my water when I read your tag. Nice one!)

Dustin's eyes flew open and he jumped up, startled at the sudden sound of a voice.

"Wha-?" He ran a hand through his hair, wondering what the heck that was. Dustin glanced around for the source of the voice, and caught a glimpse of something above. He looked up and shook his head.

"I'm assuming your God?" He grinned.

"You were expecting a man, right?" She leaned back, her long hair hanging in her face as she looked down at him. She let out a put-upon sigh. "Yes, I'm God. So burdensome. People are always asking to win the lottery, and I can't even pick the winning combination. It's unfortunate. I curse the day I made free will. And parking tickets." She smiled. "Or you could call me Buffy."

Awwwwhhh! Thank you. hehe.

Josh was walking down near the beach, taking some time to enjoy the weather-- something he rarely did at home, unless it was for a meeting.

He wasn't expecting anything too exciting, when out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of something hanging from a tree. It was a leg. Josh jumped about a mile, letting out a bit of a holler. "What the f--" He closed his eyes for a second and took a breath to steady himself.

He looked up in the tree to find-- a girl. A young woman, really. She appeared to be in her early twenties, and blonde. Another blonde? What is this?? The island trying to prove Sam was right?! He stood facing her, trying to ignore the dagger on her leg, his hands on his hips.

"You scared the crap out of me, you know that? What's with the tree-sitting, anyway? You allergic to dirt??" He smiled out of the corner of his mouth, trying his best to keep her from hearing how damn fast his heart was beating after that little surprise.

Buffy looked down at the man, her long haid hanging out ber face as she moved to straddle the branch she was perched on to get a better look at him. He was cute. She flashed her best smile.

"You see a lot if disembodied... body parts?" She asked, gracefully swinging down to a lower branch. "It's gorgeous up here. I could come down there, but you'd be missing out. Do you climb?"

Her best smile was duly noted and returned, Josh letting his impish grin spread across his face. "Don't really catch too many body parts just hanging around in Washington-- hence the yelling." He took a step toward the tree, letting the sun dance around him. "Do I climb? Again, something that doesn't make it onto my resume in Washington. It's probably best if I don't, seeing as I don't want to embarrass myself any more than I inevitably will." Josh frowned. Falling on his ass in front of a pretty girl wasn't something he had planned for the day.

sorry for slowtime-- i am teh busy (boo classes!). prod him and he'll try to climb. and he WILL look silly!

"Washington state or DC? Because I've heard that there are a lot of free-hanging body parts in Washington state. I heard they farm armpits. I'm not sure how it works, though," she said, agiley swinging down to a lower branch, and then another. She was about 15 feet off the ground, now. "Here, see? It's only a bit further, now. I'll even help you." She laid chest-down on the branch and held out her hand. "You just have to get this far."

Bridget had been leaving the compound more and more, since Elliot had begun to get back to normal. Not normal exactly, as it was somewhat difficult to be normal while one still had a gunshot wound in one's chest, but somewhat normal, nonetheless. She thought that a walk might do her some good.

She was a little too distracted by the mango that she was eating to notice anything dangling from the tree above her.

"Don't freak," Buffy said quietly, sitting up. "But there's a blonde hovering above you."

Bridget blinked twice then tilted her head upward, eyebrows raised as her mouth hung open in a very unattractive manner.

Why is everyone always climbing trees around here?

"Oh...right. I'll keep that in mind." She said, before noticing who it was.

"Oh! Buffy! Hullo!"

"Hey, Bridge," she said, swinging deftly down to a lower branch and letting her legs dangle. "Been a while." She had to reason to be bitter to Bridget. Though her boyfriend was the supreme dickhead being, she was a great girl.

River liked to climb trees. A different point of view than she could get from down on the ground was often the best way to see things clearly.

She didn't often find other people in her trees, but she wasn't really surprised to find Buffy on the next branch.

"Hello."

Buffy let her head swing back and it took a minute to process what she was seeing.

"Hey, River!" She said, scooting a little closer. "I didn't see you here. I'm not interrupting, am I?"

"No. I'm not doing anything but sitting in a tree."

To be truthful, it was nice to have company sometimes, even in trees.

"Same," she said, sighing and leaning against the trunk. "It's nice though." She smiled. "You doing alright?"

The weather had changed for the better, in Han's opinion, back to hot and sunny, just the way he liked it if he had to be planet side. So there was no reason for him to be cooped up inside, when there was all this heat to enjoy.

He'd seen some people doing this out by the compound and it looked like a good idea, but Han wasn't going to be caught dead doing what looked to be a mostly female past time. So after finding a pair of shorts in the clothes basket, a god aweful orange color but they were loose, hanging down to his knees, Han had taken the blanket that had been permenatly attached to his shoulders during the snow and went walking down the beach, looking for a nice place to bathe in the sun.

He found a nice, secluded place by some trees near the beach. With a grin, Han laid out the blanket on the sand and lay down on his back, putting his hands behind his head as he closed his eyes and soaked in the warm. God this felt good...

To welcome you back I give you half naked Han Solo ;)

There was much stifling of a giggle. She saw Han come up trying to look... stealthy and she couldn't help but laugh, and managed to keep it quiet. She was fairly scantily clad herself, back to the sports bra and jeans.

"Aren't you just the posterchild for lust?" She said smoothly, cocking her head at him with a smile that only he ever got.

I love you too much for words... And to repay, I give you half-naked Buffy and a heart. ♥

With a small start, Han opened his eyes to look up into the tree behind him. Seeing Buffy, he grinned his patented crooked smile.

"And why are you hiding all that beauty up a tree?" He scotted over slightly, indicating there was room on the blanket for her to join him.

"Down in a second, darling," she said playfully, trying not to blush and getting her footing to swing down, landing square on her feet in the spot he'd indicated. She grinned and sat down, pressing a soft kiss to his lips as a greeting.

"Good to see you. Working on your tan, Solo?"
