Snow War

Dec 04, 2011 14:09

It had been a few days since the island had completely changed. Troy had woken up to find that Treehouse headquarters was the top floor of a weird building on a London street, his comfy Spider-Man jammies had turned into some kinda weird dress nightgown thing that Troy was determined to never wear again as long as he lived- even if it was breezy ( Read more... )

This whole Victorian theme thing was obnoxious. Really really obnoxious. Oh sure, it'd been cool for like the first two seconds when she'd woken up to find snow everywhere and the place turned into an island version of London. Then she had got a look at what all of her clothes had turned into and the layers that she was supposed to wear everyday and nearly had a fit. She couldn't get the clothes box to give her anything more modern or even Victorian boys clothes so she was stuck running around in heavy layers and having very embarrassing mornings with Bart helping her to dress.

Dealing with all of that had made her very cranky and so it was with glee that she spied a snow fort in one of the parks. A snow ball fight was the perfect thing to cheer her up. She found a good place to take cover and started rolling up some snow balls, waiting for just the right moment to catch an unsuspecting victim by surprise.

Zelda had not cared for the change in clothing herself. While she did prefer dresses and was familiar with corsets, she had gotten very used to having the option of wearing something more casual. When she came upon the snow fort and, well, Cissie, Zelda knelt beside her. This was worth ruining the dress.

"What's the plan, Cissie?"

"I'm thinking loading up on snow balls," Cissie grinned, happy to have a partner in crime, so to speak. "And then we take turns throwing so that we can keep people off their game and get them when they least expect it."

With Zelda at her side, Cissie was absolutely certain they would not only have an awesome time but kick butt while they were at it.

"I think I have better than decent aim," Zelda said, laughing and smiling in a way she hadn't really since the Sheikah uniform had showed up. This was fun and just being a girl again and the reminder that she could be anything she wanted on the island was sorely needed.

"We should keep quiet, I think. Ambushing from stealth always works and gives us the upper hand."

"You're right," Cissie said, lowering her voice and ducking behind a bush and motioning for Zelda to follow her. "We should come up with tactics too. One person could make the snow balls and the other could throw them but maybe we ought to switch on that to keep people surprised and all of that."

"I agree. I should start making, I think, and let you take the first shift of launching," Zelda said, hands already packing the snow to form a perfect projectile.

"This is almost as fun as the water shooters that Alistair has. Hopefully he'll walk by and we can pelt him too, yes?"

"Of course," Cissie giggled as she glanced around in search of good victims. "We'll get him good if he comes around. Bart too, though we'll have trouble with him. He's pretty fast, still."

"I imagine super speed doesn't completely fade away even if the island destroys magic," Zelda said, smirking a bit. "We'll be sure to get him too, even if it requires a little more skill and stealth to pull it off."

Cissie nodded. "Yeah, he doesn't have his speed anymore or anything like that, but he's still a runner. We'll have our work cut out for us."

She paused for a moment and grinned. "And we can do it!"

"I don't have any doubts about that," Zelda agreed, watching as someone approached.

"We've got an incoming victim, it looks like."

It had taken less than five minutes for Bay to end up tumbled in the snow as she she ran and, largely unsuccesffuly, dodged snowballs. Her tan, suede coat was already dusted and stuck with snow and her hair was damp at the ends. And she was laughing her head off as she ducked behind a taller bank of snow and hurled a snowball at Cissie.

"Hey!"

"Hey!" Cissie tried to dodge the snowball heading her way but with the layers of clothes slowing her down, it got her on the arm. She laughed and twisted around to get a few snowballs of her own and started aiming them at Bay.

"I'll have you know this means war!"

"I figured it would!" Bay shouted, before shrieking and dodging behind her impromptu fort. It occurred to her that she probably should have stacked up some snowballs before diving headfirst into the attack.

"As long as we're clear on that," Cissie said as she threw a few more snowballs in Bay's direction then ducked behind her own little fort. She still had a good amount of snowballs left but she wanted to wait, let Bay get curious and stick her head out before pelting her again.

Bay laughed, not minding that one of the snowballs hit her upper arm before she ducked back down again, gathering up some more ammunition. Once she had a little pile, she started hucking them over at Cissie.

Cissie grinned as she ducked back behind her fort again to replenish her stock. She was having the best time of her life right now - it was almost a pity that Bay was going to have to be demolished. She'd make it up to her later but it was war now.
