Batgirl is on the shoreline. She should be at her post outside the entrance to Rapture, no, she should be down there in the underwater city helping them, Jason and Bruce both. But she's not because fuck Batman and Bruce Wayne and, you know what, add everyone on the ITF who's keeping her topside to her shit list too.
Christ, Bruce Wayne's on the island about five minutes and everything goes to hell.
Someone needs to be there who gets it, who understands where they're both coming from. And, yeah, maybe she doesn't understand all of it, she's just never going to have that depth of Jason's rage or twisty angst mind Bruce has, but damn it someone needs to be able to make sure they don't blow themselves up.
She's supposed to be helping them. Instead, Stephanie is working a punching bag as hard and as fast as she can, punching and kicking until her shoulders and thighs ache. Because she's useless, because Batman doesn't take her seriously, surprise surprise, after all that lip service about being part of the team. First sign of trouble she's benched. And getting through the ITF to get down to Rapture, that went real well. Cass would have taken the guard down in about two second and already sorted things out. Tim and Dick too. Instead, the incapable Spoiler is enjoying the sunlight while the actual work goes on underground. Typical.
A small, frustrated sound slips out of her as she jabs hard with her left hand. Taking a step back, Stephanie shakes her head in an attempt to focus, hair from her ponytail sticking to her neck. If she doesn't get this out of her system, she's not going to be that useful if something does spill over topside.
She reaches for calm and falls short. Oh, well, there's always more punching.
[She's not in the full Batgirl suit, just the black and purple bodysuit. Find her near the shoreline in a bad mood but she'll try to put on a happy face for new people.]
