There is little excuse for Auggie to not enjoy the waterfall now. When he was up at the Compound, the walk had never really made going out of his way to go there worth it. After all, why go there to cool off when it only meant he'd be sweating again by the time he walked back? It's different now that he lives in the hut he does - the waterfall is practically in his back yard at this point, the sound of the water a constant white noise he's already gotten used to. With things quiet again - that weird day of toys attacking behind him, with his leg wound nearly healed, the deep scratches scabbed over - he's back to finding himself at a loss of what to fill all the empty time he has now with.
So he starts adding in swimming to things he usually falls back on when he's bored. Better there than the rec center's gym all the time to work out, at least. It's one of those kinds of days, with a stretch of absolutely nothing between his morning and evening class and the weather just hot enough that he could use a break from it. Armed with his old cane - he isn't risking bringing his new one so close to the water when there isn't anyone on the island that'd be able to fix it - and a towel, he takes the short hike over to the shoreline after lunch.
From the sound of things, not many people were around as he approaches, which is how he likes it more often than not. In a few minutes, he picks a spot to drop his things - someplace with 'markers' he can remember to look for later - and heads into the water, not wasting any time in dunking his head under to get himself used to the switch in temperature. Luckily, he's pretty sure this place's water is always comfortable, and it doesn't take long for the chill to be unnoticable.
He doesn't really know how long he spends in the water, just letting himself relax a while. It's something he's still out of practice doing, even after the months he's been on the island.
[OOC: Feel free to find him in the water or drying off afterwards on the shoreline. As a general heads up, dude has a prominent tattoo of
this on his back, which might be recognizable as a Special Forces one if your pup would know the design. As always, if you want, his resource post is
here - any details would be appreciated!]
