He's spent time teaching her how to handle a gun and it's a good shot. From his position on one knee in the water, blood still pouring from his arm, he sees the army guy take a shot to the shoulder, turn half around with the force of it and it's long enough for him to push off and tackle, taking them both into the water again,
And he barely even feels the pain because all he's thinking about is Rachel and the baby.
That's all that's in his head.
Raylan and Rachel fight off an attack on Halloween. He'll never be able to look at a plastic soldier again.
