Having sent everyone home to get themselves ready for the party, Billy spends the hour before sundown putting together last minute details, making sure everything he doesn't want people touching are in his room, and changing into his costume.

He hadn't been kidding when he'd told Kate he was thinking Madonna; the clothes box had happily provided everything he needed for the look, cone bra included. It was absolutely outrageous and made Billy laugh at himself if he gave it more than a few moments of thought, but he waited for everyone to arrive, happy to be the one playing host for once.

"You're my favourite person ever," Kate announced when she saw Billy, cone bra and all. She hadn't doubted for a second that he'd actually do it, but it had to be known that she appreciated the costume. "Like, holy shit, you look amazing," she said, grinning.

Her own costume was something she was proud of, but it was nowhere near as amazing as Billy's. "You need to have karaoke or something and give us a performance," she said. "I mean, that's sort of mandatory when you dress like that, isn't it?"

Billy holds his arms out and bows at Kate's approval, already smiling and pleased that the party is going well. "Thanks, I actually didn't have to put in any effort. And no way am I singing, you don't want to hear that."

"Oh, come on. No stirring rendition of 'Like a Virgin'?" she asked, laughing. "Or, ooh, even better, 'Like a Prayer'. Totally appropriate for any kind of party situation, I think."

She would go around the party and take a poll, if it came to that, just to see how many people would want to hear Billy sing.

"Um, I think neither of those would work," Billy says, eying Kate because she doesn't seem like the kind of girl who would let a refusal for a karaoke performance go. "Not a virgin, and, you know, Jewish. Can I claim religion, here? Karaoke is totally not kosher."

"Nope. Madonna totally doesn't care if you're Jewish," Kate answered, but she was grinning. "I would do a duet with you." She sort of loved karaoke, but she wouldn't push Billy into doing it if he really didn't want to. "Seriously, though, it's pretty much amazing just seeing you dressed as her. I guess we can let the singing slide if we have to," she teased.

"I'll consider a duet," Billy replies, eying Kate as he makes a note to do just that the next time he sees the machine. "You look great, by the way. Red Riding Hood, right?"

"Yep," she answered, spreading her cape a little before she grinned. "It took me like, four months to pull this stuff together." But the box had been pretty good to her in the end. She'd just had to be patient, which wasn't something she was very good at most of the time, but she'd managed this time.

"You pull it off very well," he says, wanting a red coat to call his own to replace the red sweater he's worn into the ground since arriving on the island. "You should work your magic on Harry at the next costume party."

"Yeah, I totally should've gotten him to come as a big bad wolf," Kate agreed, looking back over her shoulder at Harry. She couldn't help but smile, though. Big bad wolf or his sport robe things, he looked pretty good.

"Although I guess something like that is less fun for someone who's seen like, real werewolves," she added thoughtfully.

"You, madam, are utterly ridiculous," Tony insists in Billy's ear as he wraps arms loosely about him from behind. Yes, he has to hold his boyfriend from behind because holding him from the front runs the very real risk of being impaled upon Billy's bra.

"Please tell me the stay out sign doesn't pertain to me," he adds, hitching Billy back against him. "There's really only one thing I want for my birthday this year."

Billy laughs, just barely heard over the music. He's pleased Tony's happy, even if he really didn't expect Tony to show up wearing a codpiece, of all things. "As soon as everyone's gone," he promises.

"I've got to know what compelled you to dress as Madonna," Tony says, and loosens his grip so that he can step around and properly take Billy's costume in. "If I'd known you were into crossdressing, we could have explored that kink earlier, William."

"It was Kate, and I'm not," Billy says, giving Tony's arm a playful whack at the suggestion. "I just have a healthy appreciation for the opposite sex, and this cone bra was way too good to pass up."

"Now that's a sentence I certainly never expected to hear in my lifetime, congratulations." Smirking, Tony props a hip against the refreshment table and swipes a fingertip through the cake icing. It's his cake, he reckons he's allowed.

"I think your granddad liked me," he says, apropos of nothing, and peers innocently at Billy from beneath his bowler as he sucks his finger clean. "Professor X not so much."

Billy rolls his eyes at Tony's blatant display, but leans in to give him a kiss on the cheek anyway. "I'm sure he's just not used to trusting people," he says, scraping off a bit of icing for himself. "Especially when they look like his students. He'll warm up to you."
