It hit her halfway to her Arabic class like a heavy punch in the gut. Adam. She was going to class and Adam wouldn't be there. He wouldn't be there because he wasn't here. He wasn't here and she'd forgotten that. Coraline counted the months on her hand, realising that it was one month exactly until they had been gone a year. Eleven months today and she'd forgotten them. She'd forgotten the way Harry smiled up at her and wrapped her tiny hands around her finger. She had forgotten the way Adam would ruffle her hair and kiss her goodnight. She had forgotten the way Sarah smelled, the way she was always there when Cora needed her. She had forgotten her family.
Coraline took another step, stumbling on the path before she went sprawling to the floor. Face down on the path Coraline gasped for breath as she stared at the floor. It hurt, not the fall but the fact that she had forgotten and the fact that she still missed them. She had to get up. She couldn't stay here.
"Get up Coraline," Coraline whispered to herself, wanting to cry and curl up into a ball. She had to be stronger than that. She had to be Brave. "Get up!"
Coraline pushed herself onto her feet, biting her lip at the pain in her wrist and the pain in her heart. She wanted her daddy to kiss her and tell her everything was okay. She wanted that so much but she couldn't have that. No one stuck around everyone left; Cain, Adam, Sarah, Dick, Lucy... they had all broken their promises. Well, so could Coraline. Coraline could break her promises.
"Fuck you! Fuck you for leaving! And fuck you for making me care! I hate you! I HATE YOU!" Coraline yelled, screaming and hitting a tree with her hand. It hurt but she didn't care. She didn't care anymore. She was fourteen now, it was time to grow up and stop wishing like a child. Time to stop believing in fairytales. "FUCK OFF!"
Coraline screamed before storming off away from the school.
(OOC: Coraline is not in the best of moods so not the best time to meet her unless you want rampaging teen and then go ahead. And teachers should note Cora will be absent today from all her classes.)
