Once Bill had discovered people had woken up with powers they'd not had yesterday, he'd not been able to help the surge of excitement as he dug out his wand - it had been so long, he'd long since stopped carrying it. Robb and Reynald can usually fend for themselves, but sometimes dinner at the compound is a nice change. And so is the company. Robb pokes his head in, because something smells awfully familiar.

"Is that Susan's lemon cake I smell?"

"It is," Bill confirmed, grinning at Robb. "I'm making the glaze for it now, it's due out of the oven soon. Hungry?"

"I certainly am now," Robb says cheerfully. Reynald toddles in then, beaming at Bill.

"Hungry!" he declares.

"I reckon you are, little man," Bill said, and took a piece of fruit small enough for a tiny hand to grasp, which he crouched down and handed to Reynald. "There's a bit to get you started."

Reynald stuffs the fruit in his mouth, cheerfully managing something that sounds vaguely like 'sankoo' as he chews. Robb rolls his eyes.

"I suppose for a two year old, that's not horrible manners?"

Bill just chuckled, not bothered in the slightest by the reception. "You're welcome, Reynald," he said before turning to Robb with a grin. "I'd say that's better than I've heard from my younger siblings at times, so at least it's a start."

Robb chuckles. "My sister once tried to start a food fight in the great hall in front of the king." There's really no need to explain which sister would have behaved that way, to anyone who's met them both. "So with that in mind, I suppose I should be grateful."
