Sam was flying. Okay, technically he was floating, hovering at best, but it was still awesome. He'd awoken to find himself floating above his bed, then when he freaked out at realizing that had happened, he crashed through it

From on high, there came a bubble. It was large, easily big enough for the figure within to be able to stand comfortably, tinted yellow, and smelled faintly of lemons. It floated gently down to the ground (from where, exactly, wasn't obvious) at a leisurely pace, hovered there for a few seconds, and then disintegrated, leaving Felix to hop down onto the ground, grinning broadly at the young man who'd just made such a unique entrance of his own.
"Watch the last step, it's a doozy!" he exclaimed with a laugh as he stood at the edge of the dip in the earth, once he was certain no one was injured. Not everyone could be as adept in mastering their abilities from beyond as he was, after all.
"I think it was the first one that really got me," Sam groaned, struggling to sit up. Someone obviously had a better control over their powers than Sam did. He would have been jealous except for a floating yellow bubble didn't seem all that cool. Maybe more practical and not as difficult to control, but not as cool. Or maybe the other guy was just more reasonable about all of this than Sam was.
"I know, isn't it great?" Felix asked, nodding exuberantly. He'd been a little concerned when the first bubble had come into being, terrified of the mess it would make when it popped, but it had turned out to be a very tidy power, on the whole. Of course, he'd expect nothing less from himself.
"Boy, do I wish!" Felix replied with a laugh, a few smaller bubbles popping into existence around him at the sound. "No, I'm afraid I was just your average Felix until today. Not that there was anything wrong with that, of course."
Okay, Sam wasn't sure if the the bubbles with the laughter was freaky or kind of cool. Maybe it was a bit of both, freaky cool.
"Yeah, I was a pretty average Sam before today," he said. Maybe not completely average, but no powers that was for sure. "Now, I'm, you know, just redecorating the island with some craters. Heard craters were in this season."
"Oh yes, I'm sure this spot is going to be the place to be in weeks to come," Felix joked jovially, even as he wondered what exactly was going to be done with the thing. Somebody would be bound to break an ankle or worse soon enough. "Do you need a hand, there?"
Very slowly, Sam positioned himself until he was standing up in the crater and experimentally twisted, double checking to make sure he wasn't too seriously hurt. He didn't end up screaming in pain, so he figured he was okay.
"And no, I'd be worried I'd either make myself really light and float up or really heavy and pull you down."
"All valid concerns, I'm sure," Felix said amiably, even though he had no reason to be sure of such things at all. "As long as you seem to be steady on your own two feet, no lasting harm done, I suppose! Unless walking's lost its allure after your little jaunt through the air."
"If I could reliably move laterally, floating would be more exciting," Sam admitted.
Crouching down, he took a step and then jumped, trying to imagine himself feeling like a feather, floating on the wind, but not floating too much. The result was that he looked and felt like an astronaut on the moon as he jumped out of the crater.
Felix clapped once at the jump (bubbles ensued), figuring that that looked fun enough on its own, before he offered the young man a hand to shake. "Felix Unger, of course, pleased to meet you!"
The bubbles when clapping was actually really cool. Sam wondered what sort of ability was and just what exactly would make the bubbles pop up. What would happen if Felix sneezed.
"Nice to meet you, Felix. And thanks for coming to check on me. I hope you're not disappointed I wasn't a meteorite or some sort of crazy tentacle alien or something more interesting."
"Only a little bit," Felix admitted, cheerful as ever as he waved a hand dismissively. "To everything there is a season, and to every crazy tentacle alien... some sort of planetary alignment, maybe? Anyway, it's good to meet you, too!"
"So what do your bubbles do, exactly?" Sam asked, curious as to what exactly his power was. We wouldn't have thought 'bubbles' was a cool power, but it seemed like Felix could do some interesting things with it.
"I mean, floating up above of everything is a pretty cool way to move around if you can manage it without falling to the ground."
"Oh, they're quite sturdy as long as I'm paying attention," Felix assured Sam, since beyond that, they didn't seem to really do anything beyond come in a variety of pleasant colors and scents. "A regular ruler of the skies, that's me!" At least for the next couple of days.
"Yeah, paying attention when you're up in the air seems to be of utmost importance," Sam said, glancing up at where he'd fallen from. If he hadn't been able to adjust his density both ways, he'd be dead right now.
"And probably not taking on more than you're ready for."
"Watch the last step, it's a doozy!" he exclaimed with a laugh as he stood at the edge of the dip in the earth, once he was certain no one was injured. Not everyone could be as adept in mastering their abilities from beyond as he was, after all.

He had to admit, he was getting there, himself.
