It was a bit of weird thing to be perfectly honest. No, she wasn't just saying that. Annie couldn't help but feel like her life had sort of upended a little and done it rather quickly at that. Maybe she was making a huge fuss out of nothing. Maybe it was something that she just had to settle with.
That was it. She simply had to wait, think and consider what was coming. The rest was going to be simple.
Well maybe not simple, but it would cause her to fret a great deal less. Of course it was a bit strange to wake up and not have the boys in the next room, but it was bound to happen eventually. Besides there was Nina to look after which was something that she had to think a great deal about.
Having taken over a table in the rec room, it was covered with all sorts of decorating books. That was what was needed, she had decided. A bit of colour, perhaps some pillows and her new house would start to feel like a home.
Flipping through the books trying to decide on a motif, she reached for her mug of tea only to realise that it wasn't where she had thought it was. Looking up from the book she frowned slightly. Where on earth had it gone? Lifting up one of the books, she shuffled things around.
It was just a mug of tea. It couldn't have walked off, could it have? That would just be silly. Twisting in her chair, she spotted a mug on one of the tables near the sofa.
"Excuse me. Is that yours?" she asked the nearest person, pointing to the mug. "Or is it mine?"
It was somebody's that was for certain. Actually as far as mysteries went this one was actually kind of tame.
