There's a monkey in a tree and Wolf is going to catch it.

Two days earlier, he'd seen one moving through the tree tops and, having never seen one before, he'd had to ask someone what it was. Now, with a name in his head, he's tracking it, moving silently over leaves, watching as it swings from branch to branch. Every so often it chatters, making noises Wolf has never before and he jumps back each time, startled out of his silent hunting. It might not taste very good, but Wolf doesn't want to catch it to eat.

That isn't his main goal, anyway.

Nearing the boardwalk, Wolf pauses in the jungle, waiting for the monkey to make a move. Now that it's reached a more heavily populated area, the monkey is just sitting there on a branch, watching people go by on the path. Wolf doesn't think they see him or the monkey, but he isn't paying much attention to them either.

The monkey is very, very still, and so is Wolf. Slowly, though, moving without the slightest noise, he creeps forward a few feet, then a few feet more until he's at the base of the tree where the monkey sits. He isn't running with the moon, so he only has his hands and feet to climb the tree, no claws, but he climbs it quickly, scrambling onto a branch. Nearby, the monkey screeches angrily and Wolf wonders if hunting in the trees will always be so much harder than hunting on the ground.

Crawling forward, he spots the monkey on another branch, but the little animal isn't about to be made a meal. He has some kind of nut in his hand, which he throws at Wolf and then at someone passing by on the boardwalk.

"Wow!" Wolf says, laughing. "Did you see that? He threw that right at your head, right here and now!"
