Party in the Hidden Hamlet for Logan
It was no secret that Jack had been planning a party for Logan. He'd made all the arrangements, had gotten a cake and made sure there was liquor as well as sweet talking some other food out of Helen. Maybe not sweet talking so much as just asking, but Jack liked to think he was still as charming as ever. He'd gotten everything set up in the common area of the Hidden Hamlet with some help and even brought his portable record player out to provide some music. The selection of music was interesting, if nothing else. He had his own big band record collection plus the few punk albums Roger had helped him gather and then a dozen or so that he had no clue what they were. Thriller? Born in the U.S.A.? She's So Unusual? He'd never heard of any of them but he grabbed them anyway.
Jack had planned a private thing the year before and it was wonderful, but Logan had mentioned that he had neve had a birthday party since he'd been here. Seeing the disappointment in the younger man's eyes, Jack had resolved then that this year there would be a party. A party with family and friends, a party of anyone and everyone who wanted to come to celebrate Logan's 25th birthday. He'd planned a private celebration for the evening, for just the two of them, but this afternoon it was for anyone and everyone who wanted to come and wish the birthday boy well.
He loved parties. He knew Logan didn't, but Jack hoped that this time he'd make an exception. It was all for Logan and so Jack tried very hard to make this the best birthday party he'd had. Jack tried to make it something to remember.
[Today is Logan's 25th birthday! Jack would have been on top of things and he would have been asking people to come for the last month or so.
