Some children are born completely without imagination. They may look like they imagine, but what they're actually doing is going through the motions and following in footsteps. They make no discoveries of their own.
Karen Brockman was not one of those children. And she was detirmined that her littlest brother wouldn't be, either.
At home, Karen had constructed complicated courts and sound stages with soft toys and Barbies. She had played all the parts. She'd cultivated excellent impressions of both Simon Cowell and Lord Alan Sugar. Jake and Ben had almost never wanted to play.
Josiah sat and watched her. Hatless, his blond hair is a crinkly marvel.
Karen was accutely aware that he had never seen The Apprentice or The X Factor. She was prepared to make do.
"Well, Josie," she said, hands on her hips. "What shall we play?"
Like most girls of her age, Karen had no idea how far her voice could carry.
feel free to have your pup assume the kids are on their own. ST/LT welcome!
