It is difficult to convey how good it felt to be back into a workshop again. Back in Imre, I'd spent most of my time in the workshop, building for sale, experiementing, honing my craft. There were rules at the University though, things to be bought, Kilvin to be convinced. On the island, there were no such thing as Sympathy or Sigaldry, but there was glass to be made, and ceramics, metalwork. Before, I'd been racing ahead. Now I had time to perfect my craft.

Which didn't mean that there were occasional..developments.
Anybody who's spent enough time around me knows that developments are often just around the corner.

To this day, I am not entirely sure what I did wrong.

I was working on making coloured glass. One moment, there was nothing wrong and then there was a loud explosion and a flurry of multi-coloured smoke. A lot of smoke. My only option was the vacate the building. There was a rainbow of smoke filtering up into the blue sky.

And the smoke kept coming.
It didn't smell like anything was on fire.

I had managed to burn one finger though, which was cause for considerable dismay. It'd slow my lute playing down. They had aloe in the clinic, I knew, so maybe that would have to be my next port of call. I pushed my thumb into my mouth and sucked it.

I wasn't going anywhere until the smoke stopped coming.

ooc: small explosion at the glassworks. Kvothe hasn't destroyed anything. Feel free to have your pup overhear the chaos.
