I couldn't tell you exactly when it was that I became a party-planning guru. Considering that I'd died at a party, you would think I'd be less than fond of them, but I'd forgiven my killer and apparently forgiven parties, too. In retrospect, I think my penchant for revelry arose from having been given a second chance at life, and not just because that alone deserved celebrating. More and more firmly as time went on, I felt like I was supposed to give back and be more selfless than I'd been the first time around. My practical skills had been lacking in those early days, though, so I'd had to get creative if I wanted to contribute. While I'd discovered many more ways to be useful over the years, I still loved to throw a good party.
Casino Night was, without a doubt, the most ambitious event I'd organized to date. Because not doing it right wasn't an option, there was so much to consider-Decor, music, food, tables, chairs, equipment… Did we have enough playing cards? Did we have enough chips? Who was going to man the door? Were all the dealers trained well enough? Were there enough vegetarian options in the h'ordeuvres? Who was going to help keep me sane?
That last question was perhaps the most crucial of the bunch.
Wednesday was the first day that my many helpers began transforming the Rec Center into something approximating a casino. I honestly don't know what I would have done without so many people pitching in, but even with all the help and a typically-mellow attitude, I was finding myself a bit harried. There was just so much to remember.
Needing a break, I folded up my much-edited to do list, stuck it in my back pocket and headed outside for a breather.
[OOC: Find her in front of the Rec Center looking a little overwhelmed but not unhappy. Open to new threads through Thursday.]
