Terrifying was the word that Amy stopped herself from saying. It wasn't exactly fair to put such force behind it, but it was terrifying. Her own parents had loved her (though at times she found herself having trouble remembering them fully, then at others they were bright and vivid in her mind) and she would love her child.
When a certain something is late on arrival, Amy Pond fears that it be the sign of something far more serious than she is ready for. So naturally instead of seeking out a doctor, she confides in one of her best friends.
