The coming of elections on the island is what they have instead of the turning of the seasons, a way of marking time and watching the island change half-year by half-year. And so Geoffrey finds himself on the stage again, not to start up a new play (but soon, very soon) but to announce the semiannual candidate speeches.
"Good afternoon," he says, with a great deal more animation than the last time he'd been up here doing this, "and welcome. Thank you all for coming, even those of you who are napping in the back. Thanks for at least making the effort to come down here today. In a few moments each of your candidates for Island Council will take the stage to try to convince you to throw a vote their way. After speaking each candidate will be open for questions, so let's try to throw them some hardballs this year. I think an informative and potentially entertaining time will be had by all."
And with that, because he is not making a speech, he gives his audience a broad wave and vacates the stage for the first speaker.
[OOC: The only top level tags should be Council nominee speeches. Questions or responses can then be directed to any of them. This post is open until voting begins. All candidates must make a speech in order to be on the final ballot.]
