Planning a party was both easier and harder than Billy imagined it would have been. Luckily, he had the entire week to plan things out between classes, and with Alexis helping out wherever she could, things came together easily

It was kind of a last minute thing, planning a party, but Jacob was kind of glad he'd let Billy talk him into it. He and Belle had spent his actual birthday together privately, which was really nice, but now he was ready to celebrate with the island at large.
"So, this is the celebration of my day of birth, huh? Pretty nice."
Belle was still beaming away by the time that she found Jacob, pressing a kiss to his lips, both hands on his cheeks. "You have the most wonderful friends," she praised. "Look at all this!"
"It's pretty amazing," Jacob agreed, wrapping his arms around Belle's waist and lifting her up a little. "You look amazing, too, by the way. Did the box give you this?"
"It did," she agreed, excitedly as she kissed his lips, flicking up the hem of the dress just lightly. "So," she drew out the word. "Any plans for your big day, belatedly?"
"Mmm, well, I figured we could dance a little and hang out here, and then go home?" Jacob suggested, grinning a little wider than before. "We can celebrate both our birthdays together for a little while."
"And I'll be older than you," she said, in a way that was half-teasing. She scrunched up her gaze into a squint and gave him a look that said maybe she wasn't so pleased about that. "I'm twenty now. My Papa would hardly know me if he saw me!"
"You were always older than me," Jacob pointed out, holding up two fingers. "Two years, never changes. Doesn't matter though, unless it bothers you being the hot, older woman."
Belle laughed warmly at that, giving Jacob the lightest of pushes as she pursed her lips and attempted to look very stern. "You really don't mind?" she wanted to check, just in case.
Jacob shook his head, serious for a moment. "It doesn't bother me at all. I love who I love, and two years is nothing. The older we get, the less it's even going to matter, you know?"
She was practically radiating a fond warmth at his words and her hands came up to brush at his cheeks, softly touching there as she stared at him with great adoration. "You're so lovely, do you know that?"
"Eighteen," Jacob said, laughing a little. "I wish it was a little more momentous of an occasion but I can already drink and go to strip clubs on the island, so. It's just another number, I guess. What about you?"
"That was me last year, too," Jacob admitted. "I didn't even celebrate because I had just shown up a couple weeks before it happened and I lost a couple months. It was summer when I left home."
"So, this is the celebration of my day of birth, huh? Pretty nice."
