HELP NEEDED

Veterinary Offices have recently been built on the island and are in need of capable individuals with a love for animals and the willingness to learn. No experience is necessary, merely the desire to do well. Twelve and older, please. Contact Dr. Helen Magnus either via mail or at the (human) clinic on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Helen stepped back and looked at the sign, hating the fact that she was bloody awful at wording such things. It got the point across, certainly, but had none of the flair and pizazz she'd like. It was servicable, though, and she supposed that was what mattered most. Her offices had been built in the last two weeks and she'd spent a little while gathering books from the Compound bookshelf and arranging things before advertising for help. She knew she might have a patient in Toothless the Dragon, at the least, and that was enough to sustain the part of her that missed working with Abnormals. As for the rest, there were plenty of dogs, cats and horses about that needed some standard care that the island sorely lacked. She likely wouldn't want for business, even if it was just delivering kittens and healing sore paws.

Mostly, it just felt nice to be doing something once again and being in charge of something and Helen suspected that would end up being the true benefit of the office, at least for her. Will had been right; with her sense of agency stripped away by the island and nothing to replace it, she'd gotten listless and depressed. Since planning the office, however, her mood had brightned considerably and she had the promise of a project to sustain her through the day to day. Funny, how such a small thing could make such a big difference.

She stepped back a little more, intending to head back home to her hut, when she bumped into someone. Damn, if she wasn't just clumsy today.

"I"m quite sorry. I didn't mean to step all over you."
