There are monsters in the kitchen.
Karen's sitting at the table, and she's working on making an army. Miss Charlie helped her make some play-dough earlier and Karen spent a long hour or so with her chin leaned into her hand, watching it cool in a bowl before she could roll it out. She'd spent some time lining up her new glitter paints and sequins and sparkles. She'd drawn a picture and coloured it in carefully and then, with blond curls spilling over her shoulders (desperately in need of a haircut), she had started to create.
On the seventh day, Karen made monsters.
And it was good.
She rolls a ball between her two hands, trying to make a perfect circle for a head. She's going to give it big mouse ears and a little tiny mouth. Already complete on the table, there's a monster that looks a little bit like ShorHor, with short stubby legs and a tail. Karen's going to make all of her monsters and then she's going to paint them. Miss Charlie says she'll help with the varnish. Karen's going to make herself an army because, while she's making monsters and getting glitter paint all over her hands (and a bit on her face) she's not worrying about anything and she actually feels eight years old.
She squashes the head onto the table and then she starts on the eyes.
This one's going to be the ugliest yet.
ooc: one eight year old, making a salt-dough army. You know your pup wants a monster of their very own.
