Amy Pond was on a space ship. Or a space station, if someone was about to get technical. Regardless, she was in space which was the far more important thing to grasp about this. Sure it was a bit dodgy how she came to be in space, but walking through a portal was honestly one of the less strange things that had happened her. Actually a portal was ( Read more... )

Space. He was in space again. He almost couldn't get over it. It was kinda funny -- he'd been pretty glad to be back on solid land full-time when he got to the island. No more being stuck in a pressurized hunk of metal that could depressurize or explode -- or get blown up -- at any given moment. Now that he had the option of being in space again, though, here he was. He couldn't resist. Then again, who could? Space! I have got to get Claudia up here, he thought to himself, grinning. She'll love it.

For now, though, he was just wandering on his own, poking occasionally at the odd computer terminal. This station was nothing like Destiny. It was weird, and Destiny was weird, but in way different ways. He was pretty sure the Ancients would never have built something quite like this. The differences were kinda fun to discover, but he felt a little pang, missing Destiny's familiar systems ( ... )

"I was only joking," Amy teased turning to face the boy who was talking to her. Walking backwards for a few steps before stopping, gesturing in the direction that she had been headed. Satisfied that she had at least gotten the attention of someone she grinned. It was hard to be down about much of anything when she was in space. It might not be the space that she was used to but it was better than nothing.

"I know that you can't do that. Things start to shake and everything gets a bit dodgy. But I got your attention, didn't I? I call it a success then."

He kept walking towards her while she walked backwards, stopping when she did. "Yep, you got me," he agreed, grinning easily. "Were you just trying to get someone's attention?" Talking about touching stuff randomly on a spaceship did seem like a good way to do that.

Nodding her head, grin still firmly in place she tucked a wayward strand of hair behind her ear. "Aye, I did," she laughed and shrugged rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet. On second thought maybe trainers had been a good plan. They were proper Chucks, just like the sort she had worn when making mad dashes with the Doctor. Really she couldn't go wrong.

"It's boring to explore with by yourself. I mean, I'll do it, but I won't enjoy it half as much as I would if I was dragging someone along after me."

“I'd be happy to let you drag me around,” he offered immediately. “I mean, I've already been poking around some on my own. But you're right - it's way better with someone else. Safer, too,” he added, “if you're worried about that sort of thing.” They'd always sent out teams for exploring Destiny, after all. Though, of course, this place had been cleared by the powers that be, so it should theoretically be safe - but there was always the possibility of someone pushing the wrong button and things going horribly wrong. He'd seen it happen.

This was going to sound terrible, but Amy had a brief moment of self-satisfaction at the bloke's quick response. That was exactly that sort of thing she was looking for. Someone not afraid to just go with it and worry about things only once people started turning to stone or disappearing or something.

"Not worried, but I hate to find cool, new things and turn to be like 'Oy, isn't this fabulous?' only to realise that there's no one there. Makes me look a bit mental." Which wouldn't be a first, but Amy was seriously trying to keep that whole thing to a minimum.

“Hollering at no one that you're going to touch everything might do that, too...” he pointed out with a teasing grin.

“I'm Eli, by the way.” He gestured down the hall. “You want to do some exploring? That way we've both got someone to share the cool new things with.”

"Pfft," Amy dismissed with a slight shake of her head and a wave of her hand. It wouldn't be something new to her. In fact she'd hope that people who happened to willingly and boldly go exploring space stations that appeared out of thin air might be willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

Then again...

"Amy. Pleasure to meet ya, Eli. And that'd be brilliant. In fact it was just what I was about to suggest."
