Ever since Claudia had discovered the laptop on her porch, she'd been listening non stop to the music that was on it. She'd been so excited to actually have her own music AND she was even excited over the dumb games that came with it. Minesweeper, Solitaire and FreeCell (which she actually hated, but hey! She so wasn't going to be complaining about

Said device was strapped to a band around her arm while she was headed to the compound and listening to Aerosmith before coming across a young woman singing to whatever she was listening to. Stopping the music on her own device, Sonya paused to listen to the lyrics, frowning a little as she tried to recognize them. It turned to a grin when she finally remembered.
"Bowie fan, eh?"

She had to force herself to breath and to smile. And talk. Sonya had totally just asked her a question. "Oh... Oh yeah," Claudia said with a cheesy grin (she couldn't help it! Sonya Blade!). "Bowie's friggin awesome and then some!"

"I think he was the only reason I let my bunkmate talk me into watching Labyrinth with her." Mika was more into things like faeries and other such tales, a secret she only let out to her friends. When she managed to sneak in a VHS of the movie-it was only by that detail that Sonya agreed to keep it a secret: because 'hello' it was David Bowie in tights.

It wasn't exactly a lie, she just felt too old.
"Never saw that one." She said, simply. "Maybe I should now that I'm here, plently of free time."
"What other music do you have in there?" Computers weren't really meant to hold music in her time, but she could see how they would eventually. After all, if they could be made to record sound bites, why not music.

Thinking, she set her laptop on the ground and rose to her feet, studying Sonya. "How about The Princess Bride? You have seen that one, right?"

Still, the young woman's enthusiam was enough to make her grin back.
Especially went she mentioned 'Princess Bride'. "Yes, I have seen The Princess Bride, and read the book-the movie is better actually." It was easier when you didn't have to hear Buttercup's thought processes-and she couldn't deny that Wesley was rather cute (he wasn't her type, but he wasn't that bad looking.)
She held out her hand. "Sonya Blade."

"I haven't read the book," she admitted, but maybe the book shelf would be nice to her one day and a copy of it would appear. Grinning, Claudia reached out, shaking Sonya's hand. "It's cool to meet you," she gushed, once again letting a bit of her inner geek shine through. "I'm Claudia Donovan."

The compliment did earn her a bemused grin. "Nice to meet you." She wasn't sure where the 'cool' came from-she didn't really think herself all that special enough to stand out.
Sonya pulled her hand away, looking at the computer. "Gift from the island?" Or maybe she arrived with it-as far as she knew, if the island sent something from home, it was never really something one enjoyed.

Because of course, the military wouldn't fund something just for entertainment.
"The island gave me this." She reached over onto her left arm and pulled off the iPod. "I'm still used to things like CD players and casettes, but this is nicer since it's not so bulky and you don't have to really mess with it."
Sonya proceeded to wrap the earbugs around the device to keep them from trailing everywhich way. In the process of doing so, the sun glinted off the gold/white gold wedding band on her ring finger.

Claudia's eyes widened in interest, looking over Sonya's iPid. "Well if you ever want to put new stuff on it, I have plenty...." she trailed off, catching sight of the ring on Sonya's finger. She totally didn't remember Sonya being married. "You're married?"

"'93 to be exact, the dinorsaur age of computers was the late 80s: we weren't so primative back then."
The idea of adding more music did sound like a good idea. She was still going through the albums in this thing, but according to the data she got-she still had enough room for 400 songs.
But then Claudia's attention seemed to trail off in another direction, and Sonya looked at her ring finger in response.
"Got married last December. Why?" She really didn't see why it was something worth noticing. A lot of people on the island seemed to get married, it seemed like a good place to do so since there wasn't all of the 'distractions' (or dangers in her and Scorpion's case) as there would be back home.

"Oh, no reason!" Claudia assured her with a nod. Crap, she couldn't tell her she was surprised because in the game and movie she wasn't married. But yeah. "Just kinda surprised by how many people get married here is all."

She laughed and nodded, taking a seat on the steps. "I admit it's not a step I would've taken back home." Well, she did, but look where it got her. "But we love eachother, he's able to accept all of me and my career, and it's not something we would be able to do back home." She smiled a little. "So why not get hitched."
