He's virtually sure that it's not Remy. Yes, he's spent a couple of hours in the Hub, and, yes, he's got a fairly pleasant buzz going in the middle of the afternoon, but he's still sure that it's not Remy. Her hair's different, obviously, but it's more than that; it's something about how she holds herself and the expression on her face.
Brad's used to seeing somebody else with his face, but seeing somebody who looks that much like somebody he loves? It's fucking weird.
"Hey," he says, still shrugging out of his layers for the second time today.
It was not the first time she'd ever been rebooted, but it was certainly the most disorienting. Usually, Flynn had been there, but this time there was just some stranger program, who didn't even appear to have operational circuits.
Her first instinct was to go for her identity disc, and go on the defensive. She held her attack, however, because she wasn't about to attack someone in the middle of undressing.
"Greetings," she said, entirely uncertain of her current status.
He finally strips down to his t-shirts and his jeans and pushes both hands back through his hair as he studies her. She's got to be new; there's no way she's been around and he hasn't noticed her, or heard about her from Nate. There's no way.
"Pretty disorientating, right?" he says, assuming that and moving a litle closer, offering his hand. "Brad Colbert."
"You don't look like anyone I know at all. But I don't know everybody." Not even in the grid, let alone wherever she might be now. "No. I don't even know how I got here. There was an ambush, and there were too many, and then... this. What is this? Is Flynn here?"
"He might be. There's about three hundred people here." She makes him self-conscious in a way that almost nobody does and his reaction to that is to clear his throat and draw himself up to his full height.
Quorra thought that having a look around would probably be a good idea. If Flynn was in trouble, that would be the best way to find him. Plus, this place looked pretty different from anything she was used to, and she did like new things.
"It's...a little different than it normally is, but we can start outside," he says, stepping back, gesturing for her to follow him. He snags his overcoat from the back of a chair, offers her the hoodie that he's been wearing underneath it.
"What is it normally?" Quorra studied the offered garment for a moment before she put it on. The concept of "cold" wasn't one she'd experienced for herself; temperature was not much of a consideration where she was from. She was starting to really wonder if she been completely derezzed, and this was something that happened after. It wasn't like anyone had ever come back with such information.
"It's a magic island and it's been...home for a while," says Brad, glancing back at her as he shoulders open the door. "But, right now, it's winter." He pushes open the door.
"Welcome to Tabula Rasa, Quorra. I guess I'm the welcome commitee."
Quorra was just getting used to the idea of an actual season, something she'd read about but of course never seen for herself, when she stepped through the door. She raised a hand to shield her eyes, blinking at the brilliance of the white ground and the bright blue sky.
She gasped, and closed her eyes for a moment, and was even more amazed that she could still see the brightness behind her eyelids.
"I..." He frowns, studying her in profile for a moment, taking in the details. The way she acts...it's like she's never been outside before. Brad leans his back against the wall and watches her.
"Are you a User?" He hadn't ever done it, but Quorra was sure Flynn could have made something like this "winter" inside the grid if he'd wanted to. She'd never heard of any program who could do such a thing. "Is there a portal? Maybe I can use it to back where I belong."
"I'm a Marine," he says, not quite understanding the question. He does shake his head though. "There's no way off. We're all stuck here together. I'm...I'm sorry about that."
He thinks about it for a second and then he offers her his hand.
"Oh. A Marine." Quorra had only the vaguest notion of what that meant, and she was pretty sure that it wasn't necessarily not also a User, but if he didn't even know what he was, he probably wasn't going to be very helpful. And if he wasn't going to be able to help her go anywhere, at least he could show her this world.
"Snow. Yes. I've always wanted to see snow. It looks much more... fluffy than I expected." She took his hand and let him lead her into the miracle.

Handshake. She knew all about those, even if most programs didn't bother.
"My name is Quorra."

He clears his throat and shakes his head, cheeks colouring slightly. "Has...anyone showed you around yet?"
