It wasn't an unusual sight to see Belle surrounded by books or her electronic device that allowed her to read and re-read old classics as many times as she wanted. The one thing that struck a difference, though, was the subject of the books that she had settled on the couch with her. She was in the rec room, a cup of tea on the table in front of her, and several books lying open.
Perhaps, though, she simply kept them open because the subject matter wasn't the sort that she wanted just anyone to stumble upon.
how sex works, the other side of desire, and restless virgins were amidst the titles she had by her, but the one in her hands wasn't quite so normal -- or so she thought. Still, it was something that stuck on her mind and she had to know if she was alone in what she had felt before she arrived on the island.
Angled away from the doorway as best as she could be, she clasped a book in her hand with the pages covering the front cover and the title -- The Virgin and the Monster -- but it wasn't what she was looking for at all. The Beast was beastly and not at all like the one she had known -- gentle and kind underneath it all, and a Prince if her story was to be believed.
Pressing the book into her lap, her gaze turned to middle distance and she drifted, not sure how she could even begin to ask about what she had once felt and whether Jacob's past made her some sort of...habitual freak.
