The general elections for Island Council were done, and I was happy to post the results to the bulletin board: Tabula Rasa Island Council Elected Positions - Term 10

Charlie has always loved these parties, even if it's not her on the Council anymore. Ianto's still a councilman, but it's about more than that. Back in Midland, it always felt like she couldn't change a thing, but anything's possible here, and that's always been important. It's always felt important.
She wedges herself in a corner, shoes slipped off, and she watches the party go on.
"Mrs. Jones, don't you look good," Jack said, smiling brightly. He had such a fondness for Charlie and seeing her so close to to the end of her pregancy was something to behold.
"Do you want me to get you anything? I won't ask you to dance...you look like you've made yourself comfortable."
"Don't move. I'll be right back," he said, then hurried off to fill her wish. He came back with a glass with tea and ice just for her and presented it with a flourish.
"You are my absolute favourite," says Charlie, reaching out to take the glass from him with both hands and a bright smile. "Don't tell Ianto I said so."
"Don't tell anyone, but I can't believe he actually won," Ianto whispered into Charlie's ear. He had come up behind her, a glass in each hand, one perfectly normal juice for her and one a little more juiced up for him. Handing her glass over, Ianto pulled up a seat beside her. "I'm happy he did, I just never thought it would happen."
"Maybe people have got more sense than we give them credit for," says Charlie, taking her glass with a smile of thanks. She would love to be able to lift her feet up into his lap, but that's just not happening anymore.
"If I fall asleep, just throw a blanket over me and come back for me in the mornin'."
"I'm fine," says Charlie, shaking her head and looking at him fondly. "I might not be up to dancing right now, but I can stay here for the party for a bit."
"Just let me know," he said with a nod. "I think we only need an appearance to keep our social cache in check. Of course we are quite close to the clinic this way too, if you want to stay for longer."
"At this rate, you're going to wish me into labour," says Charlie, pulling a face. "I'm fine here for a bit and then I'll be fine to walk home. Stop fussin', Ianto Jones."
She wedges herself in a corner, shoes slipped off, and she watches the party go on.

"I would kill for a glass of tea if you could rustle it up, Jack. You'd be my favourite forever."

"There you go," he grinned.

"You're not tired, are you?" he asked, leaving off the joking tone for a moment. "We can head home now if you'd rather."
