It was probably the height of ridiculousness to drag an armful of books and a blanket down to the beach especially when she'd have to carry it all back, but Cissie was determined to do her research out in the fresh air.

The bookshelf had given her a blank notebook and several books on archery and arrow-making. Just about all of her trick arrows were gone and while she didn't expect to find out how to replace those, she wanted to get her quiver filled up with regular arrows. Just in case.

If nothing else, it was something to keep her busy before classes started up again but she had mixed emotions about the whole thing. On the one hand, she'd quit the superheroing business and reading up on how to make arrows was hardly the sort of thing she'd been doing. There were other people around, some with weapons who could take care of things should something happen. She was supposed to be the normal girl and that is what she should be. Try to be, at any rate.

But on the other hand, it was one thing to stay on the sidelines in a place where her friends had their powers. It was something else when everything they had was stripped away and they were, for once, on her level. She knew having no powers wouldn't stop them - it hadn't stopped Cassie and Bart during that fight with the robot monster. If something else like that showed up, they'd be the first out on the field. Staying behind felt like it would be the wrong thing to do. Despite everything, they would risk their lives - why couldn't she, if it came down to it?

The real problem though, as she leafed through the books and made the occasional note, was the lack of materials to make the damned arrows. Wood, sure. Feathers? Not so much.

She slammed the book shut in a huff and sighed, pushing her headband back from where it had slipped. "I just had to take up the bow. Why couldn't Mom have been a sword fighter or something?"

OOC: All manners of times and tags welcome. It's a good time to meet her!
