Halloween had brought with it fog, which wasn't strange in and of itself, except for the way it was behaving. Henry didn't think much of it, knowing the island tended to behave in ways that amounted to varying degrees of fucked up, with a side of Jesus-Christ-bananas for good measure. It wasn't until he decided to cut through one instead of bothering to go around that he discovered what kind of fuckarow was waiting for him.
He walked into a cloud...and right into Hole in the Wall.
It was just as he'd left it the last time he saw it, the way he saw it in his nightmares. A reddish-gold fungus covered almost every surface, clung to the dreamcatcher hanging from the ceiling, cascaded over the furniture. He didn't have to go into the bathroom or the downstairs bedroom to know what he would find there. Fuck me Freddy, the bathroom.
So long, Beav. Love you, man - and that's straight from the heart.
A sudden, renewed grief clenched at Henry's heart, struck him so suddenly he couldn't breathe, and he stumbled outside, his vision blurred by tears. How the hell had he ended up back here? He'd burned Hole in the Wall to the ground. Henry wasn't dressed at all for the cold, but he barely noticed it in spite of the snow now blanketing the ground around him, the wintry surroundings of the Jefferson Tract. He'd come back, somehow, like a nightmare come to life, and now he was having to relive it all over again. And that wasn't all.
Henry'd been without the line so long on the island it was like slamming into a brick wall when it returned. He doubled over, hands clenching the sides of his head, and let out a wordless yell of pain. Jonesy. Jonesy was coming, and he wasn't alone.
[Henry's in rural Maine in winter, and Hole in the Wall is a smallish cabin. He's back to being psychic, and his abilities were pretty powerful in canon, so he'll be able to read your pup's mind to some extent. Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions or want to work out how your pup's nightmare and his will merge. ST/LT welcome.]
