There were very many a challenge that would arise when a future pie maker would be brought into the world, but that moment was still months away. Though Ned spent every other waking hour convincing himself he would make a better father than his own, he began to feel a rather strange emotion as the days marched forward.

He was almost excited.

Chuck grew rounder every day, and as they began doing the sorts of things an expecting parent does (baby proof the home, get clothing, recite favorite pie recipies to Chuck's belly) one thing proved harder than most: picking a name.

Even as he sat in the kitchen, waiting for a pie to finish baking, Ned pored over a copy of the Very Best Baby Name Book In The Whole Wide World. It was already well thumbed through, as the pie maker and the girl named Chuck did their best to decide on a name for their impending bundle of joy.

It was harder than he'd thought it would be (coming from a family of Edwards and Chuck a family of Charleses, it should have been much easier), and with each passing day, Ned was convinced their child would forever be known as "Baby Pie Maker Junior."
