Alexis always liked meeting new people, so when she'd heard about the party for newbies she knew she definitely wanted to go to that. She especially wanted to meet people her age, so she was hoping a lot of them would show up.

She'd gotten Cooper to come with her, since she figured he could stand to meet some more people as well, and naturally she wanted to spend time with him. They'd been mingling, but now he was over getting them food and Alexis, wearing her tankini with a pair of shorts thrown over, was debating whether or not she wanted to try surfing.

"Here," says Cooper, holding out two plates of food. He's got his shirt tucked into the back of his waistband; it's too nice a day to be fully clothed. He grins at her, leans down to kiss the corner of her mouth. He's getting mroe and more used to this whole set up.

"Having fun?"

"Thanks, Coop," Alexis said, taking one of the plates. It was going to be hard not to be completely distracted by the fact that he was shirtless.

"Yeah. I'm glad you came with me," she said, nodding, then looked back over at the surfboards she'd been contemplating. "Have you ever been surfing?"

He's sort of just picking at his food. He's cared up some alcohol before they arrived and he's got a comfortable buzz going on, ands he looks gorgeous, and, really, there's nothing to complain about.

"Once or twice," he says. "I mean, I'm from Ohio."

He wraps his free arm around her waist, keeping her as close as he can.

"I don't know, it looks kind of tricky to me," Alexis said. She leaned into him a little, picking occasionally at tidbits from her plate. "I heard Kon's giving lessons, I think he's pretty good at it."

"Yeah, but you're crazy awesome," says Cooper, mostly guileless, happily holding her weight against him.

"Oh, yeah? Maybe you ought to ask him about lessons then?" It doesn't occur to Cooper to be jaelous about the hot guy giving surfing lessons; it occurs to him that it's weird that he's that comfortable here.

Alexis ducked her head a little at that, smiling and pleased by the compliment. "I was thinking about it," she said, and jealousy didn't occur to her either simply because Cooper didn't have any reason to be jealous. "Would you want to get lessons with me?"

"Shit, it'd be something to do, right?" says Cooper, with a litle shrug. "It's not like I do anything else. Other than sleep. Try and train Gabby not to do mortal damage to herself with appliances."

She leaned into the kiss, one hand lifting to rest at Cooper's side. "I don't think there's any danger of that happening," she assured him. "I'm pretty sure my dad has enough ego for the both of us, so I try to stay, you know, fairly modest."

Kon grinned when he saw Alexis. "Ever find your dad?" he asked her. He hoped that she had. It would have sucked if he hadn't been here. She seemed to really want him to be there, unlike some teens he knew. She could probably see at first glance that there was something odd about him. No belly button and he was just wearing his board shorts.
