James was bored. The storm, which reminded him a little of the weather he'd left without the snow, had prevented him from getting to the Club. Again. There he was, all dressed up with no where to go. Again.
"Rain, rain, go away," he said to no one in particular. He'd grown tired of the crash room nearly immediately and a day later, he was feeling restless.
"Books," he said with a pout, moping on the couch. "Who wants to read those?" What was worse than the books was that he was missing his friends. No talking Meowth backing him up and agreeing with how miserable it was. Or extolling the benefits of reading to James. No Jessie calling him lazy or making him do something she didn't want to do herself. Or hugging him when he met scary former ghost persons, like Peter. He didn't even have his own Pokemon--a discovery which had been quite disturbing. He was all alone except for the books. And all the people he didn't know in the Compound. All alone.
From his upside down position on the couch, James noticed something that looked like a film reel. "Hello," he told it as he sat up and slid down the couch, landing on the ground. He crawled over to the bookshelf and took the reel. "What's HSM?"
Sunday night, he'd watched it once. The fact that it was a musical with lots of choreography helped keep him interested and pulled him into the plot, which was otherwise relatively simple and straight forward. His favorite part, by far, of course, was the fact that he was in it! He had no idea how a movie featuring him had turned up on the bookshelf, especially one that he didn't remember filming. His character wasn't that much of a reach for him, even James noted, but the fact that he was in a movie at all was all that had mattered. Additionally the girl who played his sister, Sharpay, reminded him of Jessie which only further endeared the movie to him and made him feel a little less lonely. As did the overall theme of friendship in the movie.
But there were lots of people who had taken over the Compound and one viewing seemed all that he would be allowed that night. So Monday afternoon, when things had started to clear up, and people to clear out, James had brought his prized film back up to the Rec Room for another viewing. Leaning back on the couch, he grinned happily. He only wished Jessie and Meowth were there to witness this awesome.
[He's watching HSM1, feel free to walk in on any scene OR WATCH THE WHOLE THING WITH HIM. ST/LT/ALL tags welcome! Open to new tags until this goes away.]
